Videos of practical procedures and Examination

The following videos are: Four videos about CVC placement and the use of LocSSIPs around their placement. There is then a video explaining how to deliver a simulation teaching session for line placement and a PDF or the presentation There is then 4 videos around neurological examination- GCS, SAH, Delirium Assessment and RASS scoring. There is then a video about NG tubes, then one about Chest X-ray interpretation. There is then one about bronchoscopy and the anatomy of the bronchial tree . and then a couple that are a little out of date about donning and doffing

Measurement of the Glasgow Coma Score

How to do the CAM-ICU test
Brief description of the RASS score. about 2:40sec.
Alan’s story

The video above is by a patient talking about what it’s like to have delirium. The story is particularly powerful due to the ongoing consequences for the patient.

The video above shows how to put the Hammock to fix the NG tube- Video made by Samantha Brown and Hannah Sapir from North Manchester Critical care unit.

Interpretation of Chest X-Rays

The video shown above was produced as part of a training program for core training in anaesthesia but is very relevant to practice in our unit

The video below won a prize from the American Thoracic Society and is an introduction to diagnostic bronchoscopy. In most ICU bronchoscopies there are loads of secretions around and the scope often has to be removed to be cleaned with a swab or alcohol wipe- the larynx is already bypassed by the ETT. Otherwise the video is very relevant to our practice

The video shown below should complement the video on bronchoscopy anatomy shown above. It covers some of the technical aspects of carrying out bronchoscopy on ICU, which is often done a a therapeutic procedure

The next two videos cover Donning (putting on) and Doffing (taking off) protective clothing. This is the current recommendation in SRFT for Wuhan Coronavirus

Donning protective clothing
Doffing protective clothing
